What could be more satisfying than finding a local caterer who prepares incredibly delicious local food!  It was an ease and great pleasure working with Lisa from The Wooden Spoon.  My cocktail party was set after as few as two phone calls and a couple of emails.  I was truly impressed with their creative menu, customer service, and elegant presentation. I look forward to the opportunity of utilizing the services of Lisa and her team in the future.

Staffing

Staffing for an event will vary depending on the number of attending guests, the nature of the occasion and the physical layout of the venue. We hire appropriate staff to ensure that your event runs smoothly and successfully, and always avoid overstaffing.

Staffing for Buffets
All of our buffets are attended by our service staff members to ensure that the elegance of the presentation is maintained throughout the event.

Staffing for Seated Dinners
Staffing for seated dinners will vary depending upon the style of service and the complexity and nature of the selected menu.

Helpful Staffing Hints

Don't skimp on staff.
If your guests can't get a drink, never see the hors d'oeuvres, or wait forever to get served, chances are you don't have enough staff. Staffing properly will assure that all your guests’ needs are met.

Allow the staff sufficient set-up time.
There are many invisible last minute jobs that go into any successful event. The servers must set the tables, display the decorations, fold napkins, roll the silverware and add the finishing touches, among many other things. Not providing the service staff with adequate set-up time causes unnecessary angst for everyone involved.

The staff may have questions.
Common questions include: Should we answer your phone? Is your tableware dishwasher safe? Where should we put the garbage? Do you recycle? Where are the guest bathrooms? Where do we put the guest's coats? Do we serve the host or the guests first? By answering these questions before guests arrive, you will avoid being interrupted during the party.
